Mmm...meat and discussions about special things for ME!

My human... She did this wonderful thing for me today... She got me some fresh raw meat. And apparently I have a second meals worth of it! I decided that I no longer wanted fish. So it was fed to Oreo, who is more than happy to eat whatever comes his way!
I got fresh chunks of beef that were originally supposed to go into my humans dinner! The sacrifices that my humans make for my enjoyment and pleasure amaze me!

They've been discussing the design and location for a thing that they call a cat run! The latest discussion involved a new idea about where to have it and how big... Its going to be great for me! I'll be able to go outside when ever I want and I won't need my harness! Oreo won't be able to try to squish me, I'll be safe and able to have fresh air whenever I want! Even at 3am!!! :) It just needs to be built now!

ahhh... what a good show

My human took me out the front this afternoon, where I got front row seats to the spectical of Oreos shower!

My human complained that she could smell the dog before she could see him, yesterday... So this afternoon she did something about it!

Oreo was chained to the front fence, the dog shampoo was brought out, the hose plugged in and turned on! For a water dog, he didn't really like getting wet and continually tried running away!

The look on his face was classic when the shampoo was applied! It smells of tea-tree. Not the most pleasant smell to dogs or cats, but a great smell to human noses!

Then it was time to rinse! He hated it! Its the first shower that he has ever had! In the past he has been bathed in the bath tub in the bathroom! But apparently (according to my human who whitnessed it) Oreo trashed the bathroom and thus got himself banned from being in the house! It seems he is like his mother, who got herself banned from being inside the house for peeing on the floor!

As a cat and therefore, higher species, I know better to treat my humans house like a litter box! I use the box they provide for me (which is wonderfully changed every two days by my human man!)

Oreo has a lot to learn about how to treat humans!

Mmmm...purr...rrrrr Kasheikh

My human - she cares for me!

She rescued me from the dogs attacks this morning and now he's sulking in his dog box which he is calling "solitary confinement"... If he bothered to check he'd find that he still has access to half or more of the yard! He just cant reach me! Which is good because I need to recover from his cruel stupidity!

My human showed how much she cares for me. She gently checked me over to make sure I have no more wounds, and the one on my head is starting to heal nicely! I'm feeling a bit bruised and sore. But other than that, I'm ok!

My human made sure both my water dishes were full, she topped up my biscuit dish, she scrubbed my plate and gave me some fresh food and then she treated me to some baby spinach leaves! And she gave me lots and lots of gentle hugs!

I appreciate her effort to keep me safe and happy!

I have no idea where Oreo got the idea that if I bite my human I will get put down! If that were the case then I would have been put down before I even came home! I bit her and scratched her so much that day, but she still loved me and treated me to fresh meat, warm milk, fresh water, biscuits and hugs! She puts up with me waking her at "ridiculous hours of the night", while I play with my toys and my human childs toys! She allows me to snuggle next to her and keep her awake by purrrring in her ear! I doubt i will ever find myself on the receiving end of my last needle given to me by the vet!

My human is the best thing that happened to me! I doubt I would have survived my first winter! My human loves me!

Hello Humans...

Hahahaha – I just read Oreos latest blog post and I laughed so hard that I would have fallen off a chair had I had my delicate bottom parked on one! Oreo doesn't believe that I'm an Emperor! He says its “self proclamation”! Maybe I should have tried a little harder and given him a piercing! Then he would either look really cool, really scary or down right stupid! (I'll opt for the latter).

Of course he did do an excellent job of keeping the trick or treaters away – although it was far from peaceful!! His bark ringing out through the night! Oh well!

Anyway – back to my “self proclamation” of being an Emperor... As a dog, Oreo is naturally a lower species. And as a cat, I am a higher species! My human has proven that time and time again! I get the good food and Oreo eats the scraps off my plate! Therefore I am his Emperor whether he likes it or not!
  • Does he have a delicate bottom that needs to be gently sat on the softest of cushions? No he does not! He is perfectly happy to throw himself down onto the concrete!
  • Does he have the right to sleep on our humans bed whenever he wants? No – he's not even allowed in the house!
  • He is left off his chain because he is replaceable, whereas I am not replaceable, so I have a harness and lead!
  • Does he get ham and other yummy snacks offered to him? No – he gets the scraps and stale bread thrown at him! Yes he gets bones and meat – but the meat is not fit for human consumption. I get given morsels that are fit for human consumption!
There is a difference between Oreo and I... He lives outside and I live inside! Therefore I AM his Emperor and I must rule over him!

Humans

My human... She's, well... she can get overly concerned about me! Let me explain...

I was feeling a little cold last night, so requested that I be wrapped in a warm blanket... After I got comfortable I went to sleep, only to be disturbed every half an hour or so. She had to check on me! She thought I was sick or something! When she finally decided to go to bed herself I was left to sleep in peace!

Today I tried my hardest to let her know that I really want some more fresh meat... tinned food is great, but I really need some fresh meat! I hope she understood my message! I guess I'll make my point a little clearer tomorrow!

My other human today read a "story" about how to wash the cat and the toilet at the same time!! Not very kind or cat friendly if you ask me! And if Oreo ever hears about it - then I will strongly suggest to my human (who said she would never stuff me down the toilet) that she give Oreo the biggest "bath" he's ever had! He needs it - he stinks! But then, what dog doesn't??

bragging brainless dog

Oreo made a stupid comment to me the other day... He said "Our bosses don't trust you to stay home, that's why they tie you up!" But, I know the real reason they keep me put me in my harness and lead every morning, its to keep me safe! And then I told Oreo... "my humans keep me on a harness with a lead to keep me safe, they know that I'm in danger if I'm no longer attached to my lead, whereas, Oreo the dog is not so much cared about, he is hardly ever on his chain, because my humans don't care if he wanders off and gets lost!" Oreo didn't much appreciate this and wandered off to sulk!!

So what did he do to me this morning, he tied himself up in my lead and pulled me outside. But he got yelled at! Serves him right for being nasty to me!

My belly is full of fresh food!

And the dog - he only got the scraps,
only the stale scraps!!

Snow Day

Yesterday we had snow! My humans made a mad dash out of the house to get photos! I was of course left to look after the lizards! At least I had somewhere warm to sleep! They were gone for a long time!

I was woken to stories of snowmen and lack of visibility... I am of course yet to see the photos!

When they came home, they had showers and hot chocolates and then, my human started the fire! She also tucked me into bed again! Then I was given chicken for dinner!

Spoilt I am NOT! My human describes me as Loved! What can pass up a warm fire, a warm bed and chicken (off the plate of my humans) for dinner! :)

Happy Birthday to my human

Today is my humans birthday - and unlike to dog - I have wished her a happy birthday! I still demanded that she feed me, but I did wish her some special birthday blessings!

Hopefully one of her presents is something that I will benefit from!

Sadly I have been informed that her cake is a chocolate one with added chocolate in it and on it, so I am not allowed a taste! For that matter, neither is the dog!

The Photographer in training...

The other day my little human had her first practice day of pet photography! Apparently she did well... However, I did spy a photo of me - I was blurry and the grass was in focus! I'm not sure what she was trying to do! Granted I fill two thirds of the photo - but I'm blurry! My human did tell me to "be nice - she is learning" and apparently humans need to make mistakes to help them learn! I've also been reminded that the child is not quiet 6, so she is doing very well to be able to operate the camera by herself! She is even having training with the DSLR camera, not just the little point and shoot (saying "point and shoot" sounds scary!)!

Maybe I just need to relax more in front of the camera! But I'm a cat and I expect nothing short of perfection!

I still can't believe that my human put the blurry photo of me on her "whatever-book" business page! Oh the indignity! I always need to look my best - don't these humans know this? I'm not like the dog who is more than happy to walk around with bird poo hanging off him! Or happy smelling rather disgustingly of the local creek! Although at the moment he stinks of wet, mouldy dog!

But, back to me - yes I allowed to child to photograph me! And for once she didn't half blind me with her flashy light thing! My human says that to photograph me, you need to be very fast and thinking ahead! Maybe that's why she's got some great photos of me and the not so great ones normally never see the light of day! I don't think I'll get over this blurry photo of me for a while yet!

Maybe one day the child will get an amazing photo of me! I'll post it here (if I can navigate the file system of my humans computer) if that ever happens!

Home Alone

I've been home alone (technically) for the last two days! My humans have been out at the Emmaville GemFest! They have come home very tired both days! So I have been left alone with Lweis and Spud (the two lizards), Clever and Pinky (the two yabbys), Painter and Finder (the two fish) and the Shrimp Family! My humans are very brave leaving me to watch these tasty morsels!

I've had the house to myself pretty much. My humans don't know it but I was plotting how I would behave once they got home! I don't appreciate being left alone for hours on end, so I've figured out my plan of action! It starts of being kind and affectionate, then I will be loud and annoying, running around and attacking them! Then maybe I might calm down and have a snooze next to them! Then I might go and get some marbles and drop them on the floor next to my two adult humans while they are trying to sleep! All because I can! Although, this behaviour will not take place if they bring me some yummy treats! Oh, I do love my humans!

I must admit, I do like some time for myself!

I'm going to go now and finish planning my evening... I might just spend some time snoozing in front of the fire!

Interesting days coming!

It seems that my human and my little human are going to be spending some time learning/teaching photography! And I am one of the subjects! I am going to be more famous than I already am!!

Apparently Oreo is going to be a subject too!

My human is the photographer/owner for TigerEye Freelance Photography and she is teaching my little human the ropes for the next year! And apparently any money that my little human earns, goes into her bank so she can spend it or save it!! (I hope she buys me plenty of juicy tender steaks cut into bite sized pieces!)

I'm still not sure I really like the idea of being followed by two cameras instead of the usual one! But I can consider posing!

On a different note - my other human, he did good for me! He brought me home some fresh raw meat! Mmmmm! Yum! And Oreo decided that he needed to eat dried paint! Daft dog!

I'm still trying to encourage my humans to open the lizard pen and let me in! They say that lizards are bad for me - but I don't believe them! They look like tasty little morsels! And on the subject of food! - My human - she did a miracle and found me some baby spinach leaves!! MMmm my favourite!

Ooops! I need to go - my human wants her computer back!

My human

My human lady is good to me. She feeds my yummy food, sneaks me whatever sadwich meat is going and generally treats me like a spoiled kitten! Although, she does have this nasty habit of throwing socks and small soft things at me when I "misbehave"!! But I never misbehave!

My human lady tells me regularly about this thing called grace. She says to me that when I arrived here I had much grace poured out on me because of my behaviour. I lived under a church when I was born and I was nearly feral, you see! And my human, she saw me and she loved me, and even thoughi bit her and scratched her, she still brought me into her house and gave me all the blessings of being a "normal" kitty!

As for Oreo, he was born here, so he thinks he has more rights than I do! He's a big silly dog! He doesn't realise that because I am a cat I naturally have more rights than him! But that's enough about Oreo!

My human cuddled me this morning! I requested to be under the blankets, and she gave me plenty of room! I'm not sure what she will get me for breakfast! Most likely more yummy fish! And I need to let her know my water dish is almost empty again! So I'd better go see if she is awake yet, and if not I need to wake her up!

The truth of the matter...

Mr Biscuit seems to think he knows about everything that happens inside the house! He is such a daft animal!

It is true that my carer snuggles next to me at night! She says I help to keep her warm! She also thanks me for my cuddles!

When I came to live here I was a scared little kitten, but that was then and now I am strong and brave!

I bet Oreo didn't tell you about the time I put him in his place - literally!! He was being his normal slobbering annoying self... So I decided to teach him a lesson! I tossed him onto his back! "The boss" as Oreo calls my carer, laughed and laughed, so I repeated the performance for her enjoyment! Oreo went and sulked because I flipped him onto his back, not once, but twice!

I believe that my place in the family is to stop the dog getting too big for his boots! He thinks that all I do is sleep all day... But that is not the entire truth. Yes I do have the privilege to lounge around, but I also have the duty of keeping rats and mice at bay. And keeping the lizards in line! And not to forget, checking on the fish, shrimp and yabbies! I also have other house hold duties - like testing the furniture and the humans for weaknesses and vulnerabilities! And occasionally interrupting communications!

Each day at work is long and can be very strenuous!

Enjoy your day. Thank you for reading.

Purrr Meow (Hello Humans)

Well, It would seem that my dog (Oreo) has been a little cheeky and hi-jacked my carers computer! (As it seems I have done!) Unlike Mr Biscuit - I don't need to sneak around and have access to the computer whenever I please! I am after all the cat of the house!

So, I bid thee welcome to my blog. I hope you will enjoy it!
